Autism Awareness Month FREE Interactive Book

April is Autism Awareness month!
When I was in graduate school, I created a series of interactive books with a character named "Dougy" after my son who is on the Autism Spectrum (his middle name is Douglas). I recently updated them (they were pretty outdated design-wise) and I decided to share my first one with my followers in my Teachers Pay Teachers store in honor of Autism Awareness.
This books is targeted for PK-K and special education classrooms.
This book is highly interactive! The students get to find the food Dougy is looking for (find 2 vegetables, find 2 fruit, find 2 desserts, ect..) and put them in his basket! There is also a grocery list that the students get to check off throughout the story!
Help Dougy find all of the items on his shopping list while working the following skills: • sorting • functional vocabulary • categorization • object identification • following directions • increasing MLU & more! Assembly: Lamination and velcro. Details instructions included with the download!
Click HERE to get the book!(You will need a FREE TPT account to access it).
I also made some worksheets for comprehension to use this book. There are three different question formats to choose from.
